Ramon slightly slows down; intermittent rains in Bicol, parts of Isabela, Cagayan

Tropical Storm Ramon slightly slows down as it continues to move in the west northwest direction, according to the Severe Weather Bulletin issued by PAGASA early Thursday morning.

Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains will be experienced over Bicol Region and the eastern portions of Isabela and Cagayan.

On Friday, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains may be experienced over the eastern portion of Cagayan and Isabela. Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains over Apayao, Quirino, Northern Aurora and the rest of Cagayan and Isabela.

Residents in these areas, especially those living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to flooding and rain-induced landslides, are advised to take precautionary measures, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates.

As of 4 a.m., Ramon was estimated at 355 kilometers east of Legazpi City, Albay or 300 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Ramon is moving in the west northwest direction at 10 kph.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is hoisted over:

  • Albay
  • Camarines Norte
  • Camarines Sur
  • Sorsogon
  • Eastern Samar
  • Northern Samar

TCWS No. 2 is hoisted over the province of Catanduanes.

The weather bureau reported that TCWS No. 1 may be raised over Pollilo Islands, Northern Aurora, and Eastern Isabela in the next bulletin, which will be issued by 11 a.m. on Thursday. — BAP, GMA News
