Red rainfall warning up over Quezon; yellow warning raised over NCR, Rizal, Cavite

PAGASA raised the red rainfall warning over Quezon province at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, and the yellow rainfall warning over Metro Manila (National Capital Region), Rizal and Cavite.

Under the red rainfall warning, more than 30 mm rain may be expected in one hour which may continue in the next two hours.

Serious flooding is expected in low-lying areas.

Residents in low-lying areas are to be evacuated.

The yellow rainfall warning was meanwhile raised at 11 a.m. over Metro Manila, Rizal and Cavite, which means 7.5 to 15 mm of heavy rains are expected in one hour and may continue in the next two hours.

Flooding is possible in flood-prone areas.

The orange rainfall warning on the other hand was raised over Batangas and Laguna at 11 a.m.

Under the orange rainfall warning, 15-30 mm of intense rain is to be observed in one hour and expected to continue in the next two hours. Flooding is threatening.

PAGASA said light to moderate rains meanwhile are affecting Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, Zambales and Nueva Ecija. The rains may persist within two to three hours and affect nearby areas.

Residents and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned were advised to monitor weather conditions and await the next advisory to be issued at 2 p.m. —KG, GMA News
