Amihan to bring cloudy skies, rains over the Philippines, says PAGASA

The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan is forecast to bring cloudy skies and rains over the country within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Monday.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, and Davao Oriental.

Residents of these areas should also expect intermittent gusts, especially in coastal and mountainous areas, it added.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains were forecast for Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

According to the three-day wind forecast for areas affected by Taal Volcano’s eruption, ash plumes will drift south, southwest, west, and northwest of the volcano if the eruption column remains at a height of three kilometers or below.

If the ash column will be between three and five kilometers, the plumes will drift over some towns of Cavite and western Laguna.

If the ash column will exceed five kilometers in the event of a major eruption, the plumes will drift over Metro Manila, other parts of Laguna, some parts of Rizal, Marinduque, and Quezon Province. — RSJ, GMA News
