Easterlies to bring cloudy skies, rains over the Philippines

The Easterlies, warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, are forecast to bring cloudy skies and rains over the country within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said the Easterlies are affecting the Visayas and Mindanao.

The Easterlies and localized thunderstorms are expected to cast partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

PAGASA advised the public to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.

The said weather conditions are not expected to cause any significant impact in the concerned areas. — Julia Mari Ornedo/RSJ, GMA News
