No one was reported killed yet, but there were reports of injuries, according to Governor Ben Evardone of Eastern Samar, where Ambo left a trail of destruction following its overnight onslaught.

According to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines, several power transmissions and distribution utilities were knocked down by Typhoon Ambo, most of them in the Samar provinces, resulting in power outages.

Inspection and restoration of lines in the affected areas will be in full swing as soon as the weather allows, the power grid operator said.

“Please note that loss of power may be caused by affected transmission facilities of NGCP or distribution facilities of local distribution utilities or electric cooperatives,” it said.
