Cloudy skies, isolated rains in Batanes, Cagayan, other areas due to frontal system

A frontal system will be affecting extreme northern Luzon on Friday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte will have cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms brought about by the frontal system. The bureau warns residents in the affected areas that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The weather bureau also reported that Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms and that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving in the south to southwest direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

For the rest of Luzon, wind speed will be light to moderate and moving in the southeast to south direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, the wind speed forecast is light to moderate and moving southeastward while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
