Heat index highest in Ambulong, Tanauan City at 48°C

Ambulong, Tanauan City on Friday recorded the day's highest heat index or human-perceived temperature, at 48°C, according to PAGASA.

This is followed by the Sangley Point, Cavite City with 46°C, Calapan City and the Science City of Munoz which both recorded a heat index of 45°C, and the Port Area, Manila with 44°C.

PAGASA warned that heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible. This may lead to heat stroke amid continued physical activity.

 

 

Meanwhile, the PAGASA station at the Science Garden in Quezon City recorded a heat index of 41°C at 2 p.m.

A maximum temperature of 34.2°C was recorded at the same time while the lowest temperature was recorded at 24.7°C at 5:30 a.m.

 

 

PAGASA said that easterlies, warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, and localized thunderstorms may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country on Saturday.

The weather agency warned against possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms. —LDF, GMA News
