ITCZ to bring rains, thunderstorms over Southern Mindanao

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms over Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, BARMM, and the Zamboanga Peninsula, PAGASA said Thursday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to, at times, heavy rainshowers.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.

Severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, its synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 26.4°C at 5 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 33°C at 12 noon.

PAGASA said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Pampanga, Laguna, and Nueva Ecija within the next two hours.

In its 4:17 p.m. advisory, the weather agency said the same conditions are currently being experienced at Baliuag, San Rafael, and Norzagaray in Bulacan and Macalelon and General Luna in Quezon which may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.

Affected residents are advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides. —LDF, GMA News
