ITCZ to bring rains, thunderstorms over 5 areas across Philippines

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA, Western and Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and the Zamboanga Peninsula, PAGASA said Saturday.

In its 24-hour forecast, affected residents were warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country may also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA said flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 25.3°C at 5:30 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 34.2°C at 3:05 p.m.

PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Metro Manila, Nueva Ecija , Bataan,  and Pampanga within the next two hours.

As of posting time, the same conditions are being experienced in Tarlac, Zambales, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, Bulacan, and Rizal, which may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.
