Habagat to bring cloudy skies, rain over Luzon; TS Dindo moving northwest

The southwest monsoon or Habagat is expected to bring cloudy skies and rains over Luzon within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday.

In its 4 p.m. forecast, the state weather bureau said habagat was affecting Luzon while the trough of a low pressure area was affecting the eastern section of Mindanao.

The weather bureau said occasional rains should be expected over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon, while cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms should be expected over Caraga and Davao Region while localized thunderstorms were seen to bring partly cloudy skies to at times cloudy with rain showers over the rest of the country.

PAGASA advised the public to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to occasional heavy rains

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Dindo was located 410 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes as of 3 p.m. packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

The cyclone is moving northwestward at 15 kph but no warning signals have been raised over any part of the country yet.
