TS Leon, Habagat to bring widespread rainshowers over 4 areas

Tropical storm Leon and the Southwest Monsoon are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA, and the provinces of Iloilo, Antique, and Aklan, according to PAGASA on Wednesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

The weather systems may also bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, the Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Mindanao, the rest of Visayas, the provinces of Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, Pangasinan, and La Union.

PAGASA said flash floods and landslides are possible due to scattered moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the center of Leon was estimated at 405 kilometers west northwest of Coron, Palawan with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

It is moving westward at 15 kph.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms, according to PAGASA.
