LPA, Habagat to bring scattered rains over Ilocos, CAR, Cagayan Valley

A low pressure area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon (Habagat) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and Cagayan Valley on Sunday, PAGASA said in its early morning weather forecast.

The monsoon and localized thunderstorms meanwhile, will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

At 3 a.m., the LPA was located at 360 km east of Basco, Batanes.

The monsoon, on the other hand, is affecting the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.

Coastal waters will be moderate in the western sections of Luzon and Visayas, and slight to moderate in the rest of the country.

Sunrise will be at 5:45 a.m. while sunset will be at 5:48 p.m. —KG, GMA News
