Red rainfall warning up over Sorsogon and Masbate

PAGASA raised the red rainfall warning over Sorsogon and Masbate at 8 a.m. on Wednesday due to heavy rains expected due to Tropical Depression Ofel.

Residents were warned of severe flooding in flood-prone areas and near river channels.

Landslides may also possibly occur in landslide-prone areas.

Meanwhile, an orange rainfall warning was raised at 8 a.m. over Northern Samar, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte and Albay.

This means flooding and landslides are threatening in areas prone to these disasters.

The yellow rainfall warning on the other hand was raised at 8 a.m. over Camarines Sur, Marinduque and Romblon.

These areas may expect flooding in low-lying areas and near river channels.

Landslides may also occur in mountainous areas.

The weather bureau also raised the yellow rainfall warning at 7:30 a.m. over Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon, saying flooding is possible in flood-prone areas.

Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Bataan and Pampanga meanwhile should expect light to moderate rains within the next three hours.

Metro Manila, Bulacan and Cavite will also have light to moderate with occasional heavy rains which may persist within three hours and affect nearby areas.
