Red rainfall warning up over Biliran, parts of Samar and Eastern Samar

PAGASA raised the red rainfall warning at 5 a.m. on Sunday over the northern portion of Samar, northern portion of Eastern Samar, and Biliran due to Super Typhoon Rolly (international name: Goni).

The weather bureau said low-lying areas will have serious flooding, and mountainous areas will have landslides.

The orange rainfall warning meanwhile was raised over the rest of Samar and the rest of Eastern Samar.

Flooding is a threat in the low-lying areas in these areas, and landslides are also a threat in mountainous areas.

The yellow rainfall warning meanwhile, has been raised over Leyte.

"Flooding is possible in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas," PAGASA said.

The weather bureau advised residents and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned to take the necessary precautions.
