Bicol, Eastern Visayas, 4 other areas to have rains due to tail-end of frontal system

The Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and four other areas will have scattered rains on Monday due to the tail-end of a frontal system, PAGASA said.

The other areas affected are Quezon, Mindoro Provinces, Romblon and Marinduque.

These areas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and the rest of Calabarzon will have cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).

Flash floods or landslides may also possibly occur during times of light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, with the possibility of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in Luzon and Visayas, and slight to moderate in Mindanao.

LPA

PAGASA is also monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

At 3 a.m., the LPA was located 890 km east of Mindanao and was still out at sea.

It has no effect yet on the country on Monday, but it is moving toward Eastern Visayas, particularly the Samar and Leyte area, GMA resident meteorologist Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz said on GMA News' Unang Balita on Monday.

"Maaaring maging bagyo ito habang papalapit sa bansa," Cruz said.

He added that it may become a tropical depression, not a super typhoon though.
