Easterlies to bring rain, thunderstorms to Masbate, Sorsogon, Biliran, Samar Provinces

Warm winds from the Pacific Ocean called Easterlies are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Masbate, Sorsogon, Biliran, and the Samar Provinces, according to PAGASA on Thursday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents against flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate with, at times, heavy rains.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies with light rains may prevail over Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon, due to the northeast monsoon.

PAGASA said it is also expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

Despite this, the weather agency said the monsoon has no significant impact on the affected areas.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country are also expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the Easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA said flash floods or landslides are possible due to severe thunderstorms.
