Scattered rain expected across the west-central Philippines –PAGASA

By JOAHNA LEI CASILAO,GMA News

A low-pressure area (LPA) and the tail-end of a frontal system would bring cloudy conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over several western and central Philippine areas, PAGASA said Saturday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency said affected areas included Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, the Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, the Zamboanga Peninsula, and the Bangsamoro Regions, as well as the entire Visayas.

PAGASA also warned against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to, at times, heavy rain.

At 3 p.m. on Saturday, the LPA was 75 kilometers east-northeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon would bring cloudy skies with light rain over Central Luzon, Cagayan, and Isabela.

It may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain over the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

Despite this, the weather agency said the northeast monsoon had no significant impact on the affected areas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may, meanwhile, prevail over the rest of Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.
