Parts of the country to experience rain due to Dante —PAGASA

Several parts of the country will experience rain due to Tropical Storm Dante, PAGASA said Tuesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency said Dante was located 290 kilometers northeast of Surigao City at 3 p.m. with maximum sustained winds of 75 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is moving northwestward at 20 kph.

PAGASA said the provinces of Samar will experience stormy weather, while the Bicol Region, the rest of Eastern Visayas and Caraga will experience rains with gusty winds.

PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy rains. It added that there might be damage to structures and vegetation due to strong winds.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao and the rest of Visayas.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible, PAGASA added.

Further, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will prevail over the eastern section of Visayas, Southern Luzon, and Mindanao.

The rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
