Southwest Monsoon, ITCZ to bring scattered rains over most of the country

The Southwest Monsoon and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring scattered rains over most parts of the country on Monday, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Palawan, and Mindoro Provinces will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the monsoon.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during times of moderate to heavy rains.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced meanwhile in Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region due to the ITCZ.

PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may also occur during times of moderate to heavy rains.

The rest of the country on the other hand will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon and ITCZ, with the possibility of flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be moderate in the western section of Luzon, and slight to moderate in the rest of the country.

Sunrise was at 5:26 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:24 p.m. —KG, GMA News
