Cloudy skies, scattered rains over parts of Visayas, Mindanao due to ITCZ, LPA


As of 3 a.m. on Tuesday, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 285 kilometers east southeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar and embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) that will be affecting Visayas and Mindanao while the effects of the southwest monsoon will be felt in Luzon, PAGASA reported.

Zambales, Palawan, and Mindoro Provinces will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these provinces due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.

Eastern Visayas and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and flash floods or landslides may occur due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms brought about by the southwest Monsoon / ITCZ with the possibility of flash floods or landslides occurring due to severe thunderstorms.

Western section of Luzon will experience moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to south direction while coastal waters will be moderate.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to south direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
