Southwest Monsoon to prevail over Metro Manila, rest of the country


The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat and localized thunderstorms will continue to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the synoptic station at the Science Garden, Diliman, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 27.4°C at 4:55 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 33.4°C at 3:30 p.m.

According to a 3:50 p.m. advisory, moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Zambales,  Pampanga, Rizal, and Quezon within the next two hours.

As of posting time, heavy to intense rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in Laguna, Cavite, Nueva Ecija, Batangas, and Tarlac, which may persist within the next two hours.
