LPA trough to bring rains over Metro Manila, 6 other areas

The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and six other areas, according to PAGASA on Saturday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency said other affected areas include Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA. Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, affected residents were warned against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

At 3 p.m. on Saturday, the LPA was estimated based on all available data at 990 kilometers east of Northern Mindanao.

PAGASA said that localized thunderstorms may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the synoptic station at the Science Garden, Diliman, Quezon City also recorded 24°C at 6 a.n. and a maximum temperature of 29°C at 1:50 p.m. -MDM, GMA News
