Southwest monsoon, localized thunderstorms to bring rains over Luzon, Visayas

The southwest monsoon will affect the western sections of Luzon and Visayas, PAGASA said Tuesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western and Central Visayas, Zambales, and Bataan.

PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon or localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Further, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will prevail over Luzon, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters will be experienced in Visayas and Mindanao.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
