Fabian maintains its strength as it moves over Philippine Sea

Tropical Storm Fabian (international name: In-Fa) on Sunday maintained its strength as it continued traversing the Philippine Sea, PAGASA said in its 11 a.m. bulletin.

PAGASA said from the center of Fabian, strong winds are extending outwards up to 400 km.

No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals were raised.

However, Fabian and a low-pressure area located 740 km west of Basco, Batanes will continue to draw in the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

The monsoon will thus bring rains over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Zambales and Bataan in the next 24 hours.

At 10 a.m., the eye or center of Fabian was located at 1,100 km east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.

Fabian has maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h, and central pressure of 998 hPa.

The storm is moving north northwestward slowly.

Fabian is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday evening or Tuesday morning. —KG, GMA News
