Habagat to bring monsoon rains over NCR, 7 other areas

The southwest monsoon or the Habagat is expected to bring monsoon rains over the National Capital Region and seven other areas, according to PAGASA's Saturday afternoon forecast.

The weather agency said the other affected areas were the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Abra, Benguet, Occidental Mindoro, and Oriental Mindoro.

PAGASA said flash floods or landslides were also possible in these areas due to scattered to widespread moderate to, at times, heavy rain.

The monsoon is also expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon, Antique, and Aklan.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon.

PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides.

Typhoon In-Fa, formerly Fabian, was last located at 780 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, with maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph.

It is moving northward at 15 kph.
