Southwest monsoon to bring cloudy skies, rains over many parts of the country

Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan and Occidental Mindoro will have monsoon rains brought about by the southwest monsoon, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Flooding or rain-induced landslides may occur in these areas due to scattered to widespread moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, rest of Cagayan Valley, rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, rest of Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Palawan including Cuyo and Calamian Islands, Antique, and Aklan will have occasional rains due to southwest monsoon with possible flooding or rain-induced landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to southwest monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Luzon and Visayas will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate to strong.

Wind speed forecast in Mindanao is light to moderate moving southwestward while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
