Cloudy skies, scattered rains, thunderstorms over southern Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao due to LPA, ITCZ


The Low Pressure Area (LPA) embedded in the Inter tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, according to the early morning forecast posted by PAGASA.

The weather bureau reports that as of 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated at 90 kilometers east southeast of Romblon, Romblon and embedded in the ITCZ.

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro, SOCCSKSARGEN, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, Ifugao, La Union, Pangasinan, and Camarines Norte will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the ITCZ and LPA with possible flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms with the possibility of flash floods or landslides occurring due to severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is light to moderate in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Residents in the Visayas will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northwest to southwest with slight to moderate coastal waters.

In Mindanao, wind speed forecast is light to moderate moving southwestward while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
