PAGASA: LPA, ITCZ affecting southern Luzon, rest of country

A low-pressure area embedded in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, PAGASA said Sunday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the state weather bureau said the LPA was located 45 kilometers north of Romblon, Romblon at 3 p.m.

PAGASA said Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the provinces of La Union, Pangasinan, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, and Ifugao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA and ITCZ.

PAGASA advised residents of affected areas to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible due to severe thunderstorms, PAGASA said.

Moreover, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal water conditions. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/LBG, GMA News
