LPA, ITCZ to bring scattered rains over Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Mindanao, Quezon

Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Mindanao and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Monday due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur due to severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may result after severe thunderstorms.

At 3 a.m., the LPA was located 280 km west of Subic, Zambales. It was embedded in the ITCZ which currently affects Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.

Sunrise was at 5:45 a.m. Sunset will be at 5:54 p.m. —KG, GMA News
