LPA, ITCZ to bring rainshowers, thunderstorms over 3 regions

A low pressure area (LPA) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA, the Davao Region, and SOCCSKSARGEN areas, PAGASA said Tuesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms.

At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the LPA was estimated at 175 kilometers west-northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said ITCZ and localized thunderstorms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible.

The PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Diliman, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 25°C at 5 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 32.2°C at 2:56 p.m. — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA News
