LPA, ITCZ to bring cloudy skies, scattered rain over Southern Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao

By RICHA NORIEGA, GMA News

A low-pressure area (LPA) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, weather bureau PAGASA said on Saturday.

In its 24-hour weather report, the weather bureau said the LPA was 155 kilometers west-northwest of Zamboanga City embedded along the ITCZ affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao at 3 p.m.

PAGASA said Metro Manila, the rest of CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and BARMM will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the LPA and ITCZ.

The Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon would experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, which may cause flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rain, due to a shear line.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail in the rest of the country.

The weather bureau also advised of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southeast to northeast direction, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate, PAGASA added. — DVM, GMA News
