Shear line, Amihan to bring rain over parts of the country —PAGASA

The shear line (tail-end of frontal system) will be affecting Visayas and Northeastern Mindanao, while the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will also affect Luzon, the weather bureau PAGASA said on Tuesday.

According to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, Visayas, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line, with possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy with at times intense rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, and MIMAROPA will experience cloudy skies with light rains due to Amihan.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao is moderate to strong moving northeast while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
