Lowest temperature in NCR this Amihan season recorded on Sunday –PAGASA

The lowest temperature in Metro Manila during the 2021-2022 Northeast Monsoon or Amihan season was recorded on Sunday, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

At 8 a.m. on January 16, 2022, temperatures at the Science Garden in Quezon City dropped to 19.7°C. There was even fog on EDSA in the early hours of Sunday due to the cold, according to a report on 24 Oras Weekend.

PAGASA weather specialist Ana Clauren said this was the lowest temperature so far in Metro Manila since the onset of the Amihan season in October 2021.

"Yes po, since nag-start ang Amihan (Since Amihan season started.)," said Clauren over a phone interview with GMA News Online.

Based on PAGASA's historical records, 14.5 °C was the lowest temperature in Metro Manila. This was recorded at the Port Area, Manila station on January 11, 1914. — DVM, GMA News
