Cloudy skies, scattered rains due to LPA, ITCZ over parts of country —PAGASA

The low pressure area (LPA) and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of the country, according to state weather bureau PAGASA on Friday.

The LPA was located 185 km east northeast of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte as of 3 p.m., PAGASA reported.

PAGASA said it is also monitoring a tropical storm outside of the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), which was last spotted at 2,215 kilometers east of Mindanao.

It has sustained maximum winds of 75 kilometers per hour, and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It was moving north northwestward at 10 kph.

According to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with rains due to Northeasterly Surface Windflow.
