ITCZ to bring scattered rain showers over Bicol Region, Visayas, 5 other areas

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will affect Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, state weather bureau PAGASA said Monday.

Based on PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Marinduque, and Romblon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the ITCZ.

The weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Further, wind speeds in Luzon are expected to be light to moderate, moving southeast to south, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions, ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

Light to moderate wind speeds moving southwest to southeast will be experienced by Visayas and Mindanao, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions, ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 5:32 a.m. on Tuesday.Mel Matthew Doctor/AOL, GMA News
