Trough of Inday to bring cloudy skies, rains over Bicol, other areas

Tropical Storm Inday slightly intensifies and slows down over the Philippine Sea, according to the Tropical Cyclone Bulletin post by PAGASA early Friday morning.

Aside from rain showers caused by its trough, Tropical Storm INDAY remains less likely to bring heavy rains in the country throughout the forecast period.

There are no Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal raised in any part of the country.

Bicol Region, Panay Island, Samar Provinces, Mindoro Provinces, Quezon, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of Inday with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Wind speed forecast for Luzon is light to moderate moving in the northeast to west while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Inday may bring moderate to rough seas over the seaboards of Batanes and Babuyan Islands beginning mid to late Saturday, that poses as a risky for small seacrafts.

Inday is forecast to move generally northwestward over the Philippine Sea until Sunday before tuning more north northwestward or northward over the sea east of Taiwan while decelerating.

PAGASA reported that the tropical storm may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility early next week.

The center of Tropical Storm Inday was estimated at 870 kilometers east of central Luzon moving in the west northwest direction moving slowly.

Inday is packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 105 km/h.
