Habagat affecting western sections of Central, Southern Luzon

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will be affecting the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon, PAGASA said on Sunday.

According to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and the northern portion of Palawan including Kalayaan Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Habagat.

Affected residents were advised to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA said.

The wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon will be moderate moving in the southwest to west direction, while coastal waters will be moderate, ranging from 1.2 to 2.5 meters.

Slight to moderate wind speeds will be experienced by the rest of the country moving in the south to southwest direction, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions, ranging from 0.6 meters to 2.5 meters. —LBG, GMA News
