PAGASA: Habagat to affect parts of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat continues to affect the western section of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon and the Visayas region and may bring rains over the archipelago, PAGASA said Tuesday.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said Habagat and the trough of Typhoon Karding — which is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) — may spur rains over Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and Western Visayas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the Southwest Monsoon and the localized thunderstorms.

Forecast winds in Luzon, Visayas, and the western section of Mindanao will be moderate to strong and will be accompanied by moderate to rough coastal waters. The rest of Mindanao, meanwhile, may experience slight to moderate winds and coastal waters.

Minimum temperature was recorded at 6 a.m. at 25.2°C while maximum temperature was at 33°C at 1 p.m.

PAGASA continues to monitor Karding as it continues to move outside PAR.

As of 3 p.m., the typhoon was spotted 1,005 kilometers west of Northern Luzon. It is heading west-northwestward at 15 kilometers per hour while packing maximum sustained winds of 165 km/h and gustiness of up to 205 km/h.
