Habagat, LPA's trough to bring scattered rains over parts of Central and Southern Luzon

The Southwest Monsoon or habagat and the trough of a low pressure area will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of Central and Southern Luzon on Wednesday, PAGASA reported in its early morning report.

At 3 a.m. on Wednesday, the LPA was estimated to be located at 1,240 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.

The Habagat meanwhile is forecasted to affect the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon.

Occidental Mindoro and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may possibly result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Eastern Visayas and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA, with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may occur.

The wind speed forecast for the northern and western sections of Luzon is moderate to strong moving in the southwest to southeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon and the rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Sunrise will be at 5:46 a.m., sunset at 5:48 p.m. BAP/KG, GMA News
