PAGASA: Easterlies to affect eastern Luzon and Visayas; ITCZ over Mindanao

The easterlies will continue to affect the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect parts of Mindanao in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

According to the state weather bureau's bulletin, Metro Manila, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Easterlies.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms willprevail over South Cotabato, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi due to ITCZ.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due the ITCZ.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA said.

The wind speed forecast for northern Luzon is moderate moving northeast to east, while coastal water conditions will be moderate, ranging from 1.2 meters to 2.1 meters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate wind speeds moving southeast to east with slight to moderate coastal water conditions, with waves ranging from 0.6 meters to 2.1 meters high. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
