Red rainfall warning up over Iloilo, several other areas

PAGASA raised the red rainfall warning at 8 a.m. on Saturday over Iloilo, Antique, Capiz, Aklan, Negros Occidental, and Guimaras.

Areas under red rainfall warning may have torrential rains measuring more than 30 mm in one hour, which may continue in the next two hours.

Serious flooding may be expected in flood-prone areas and near river channels, while landslides may occur in mountainous areas, PAGASA said.

Also placed under separate red rainfall warnings due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) at 8 a.m. Saturday are:

  • Cebu (Bantayan Island, Daanbantayan, Medellin, Bogo City, Tabogon, Borbon, Sogod, Catmon, Carmen, Danao City, Compostela, Liloan, Consolacion, Lapu-Lapu City, Cordova, San Remegio, Tabuelan, Tuburan, Asturias, Balamban, Toledo City, Mandaue City, Cebu City, Talisay City, Minglanilla, Pinamungahan, Naga City, San Fernando, Carcar City, Sibonga, Aloguinsan, Barili, Dumanjug, CamotesIsland);
  • Samar;
  • Leyte;
  • Eastern Samar;
  • Southern Leyte;
  • Biliran Island; 
  • Palawan (Kalayaan Islands, Cagayancillo); 
  • Sorsogon;
  • Catanduanes;
  • Camarines Sur;
  • Camarines Norte; and
  • Albay.

 

The orange rainfall warning meanwhile was hoisted at 8 a.m. on Saturday over the following areas, also due to Paeng:

  • Cebu (Ronda, Alcantara, Moalboal, Argao, Dalaguete, Alcoy, Boljoon, Oslob, Santander, Samboan, Ginatilan, Malabuyoc, Alegria, Badian);
  • Negros Oriental;

  • Siquijor;
  • Romblon;
  • Oriental Mindoro;
  • Marinduque;
  • Masbate (including Burias Island and Ticao Island); and
  • Northern Samar.

 

Areas under orange rainfall warning will have intense rains measuring 15 to 30 mm in one hour, which may continue in the next two hours.

Flooding is threatening in areas under orange rainfall warning, and landslides in mountainous areas.

Meanwhile, the yellow rainfall warning was raised at 8 a.m. on Saturday over the following areas also due to Paeng:

  • Palawan (Calamian and Cuyo Group of Islands, Northern Palawan);
  • Occidental Mindoro;
  • Quezon;
  • Laguna;
  • Rizal; 
  • Batangas; and
  • Bohol.

 

Areas under yellow rainfall warning will have heavy rains measuring 7.5 to 15 mm in one hour which may continue in the next two hours.

Flooding is possible in areas under yellow rainfall warning.
