LPA to spur rains over parts of Philippines

A low-pressure area (LPA) developing over the waters off Surigao del Norte will bring scattered rainshowers over parts of the country, PAGASA said Friday.

Based on its latest weather bulletin, the LPA is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga Peninsula.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms may prevail in the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora due to the shear line.

Meanwhile, the shear line and the localized thunderstorms may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

PAGASA said the LPA was last seen 245 kilometers east northeast of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte as of 3 p.m.

Minimum temperature was monitored at 7 a.m. at 25.2 °C. Maximum temperature was 27.8 °C at 2 p.m.

Sunset will be at 5:27 p.m.—Sundy Locus/LDF, GMA Integrated News
