Northeast Monsoon to bring rains over Cagayan Valley, 6 other areas

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) continues to affect Northern and Central Luzon on Sunday and will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley and six other areas, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

The other areas affected are Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Aurora, and the northern portion of Quezon.

Residents may expect flash floods or landslides in areas prone to these hazards due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains due to the Amihan.

Eastern Visayas and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA). Rains may be moderate to at times heavy, and may cause flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country on the other hand will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.

Coastal areas will be moderate to rough throughout the country.
