LPA, Amihan to bring rain showers across the country

The Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to a low-pressure Area (LPA) 670 kilometers east-southeast of Davao del Sur, weather service PAGASA reported in a Saturday afternoon forecast.

Flooding or landslides may be possible in these areas due to the expected moderate to heavy rains.

The Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon would meanwhile be under the influence of the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan and would experience cloudy skies with rain.

The moderate to, at times, heavy rain in these areas may lead to flash floods or landslides.

Palawan and the Western Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rain caused by the Amihan but with no significant impact expected.

The whole country will have moderate to strong winds from the northeast to east, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough (1.2 to 4.5 meters).

The sun will set over Metro Manila at 5:41 p.m. today. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
