LPA, shear line to bring rains over the eastern Philippines, Kalayaan Islands

A low-pressure area (LPA) and shear line will bring cloudy skies and rains over the Kalayaan Islands, and the eastern section of Southern Luzon and the Visayas, weather bureau PAGASA reported on Tuesday.

Based on PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, the LPA was located 330 kilometers west of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (10.2°N, 115.8°E) at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Surigao del Norte, the Dinagat Islands, the Eastern Visayas, the Bicol Region, Quezon, and the Kalayaan Islands would experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Apayao, Cagayan Valley, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan with possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon and eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon was strong moving northeastwards, while coastal water conditions would be rough.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to strong winds moving northeast to east, with moderate to rough water conditions.

Mindanao will experience slight to moderate winds moving northeast to north, while coastal waters would be light to moderate.
