Shear line, Amihan to bring rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas

The shear line will affect the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas, while the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan, will prevail over the rest of Luzon, according to the weather bureau PAGASA on Wednesday.

The Bicol Region, Northern Samar, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line, based on PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast.

PAGASA advised that flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains may occur.

Cagayan Valley, Apayao, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with rains due to Amihan with possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains. 

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Winds are expected to be strong in Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, with rough coastal water conditions.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience moderate to strong winds along with moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

Slight to moderate wind speeds are forecast for Mindanao, while coastal water conditions will be light to moderate.
