Shear line, amihan to bring rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas

The shear line will bring rains and thunderstorms to the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas while the northeast monsoon or amihan will be affecting the rest of Luzon on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan, Capiz, and Northern Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought about by the shear line with possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Laguna, and Oriental Mindoro will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon with possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains also due to the northeast monsoon but with no significant impact.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the shear line and localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon, the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, and Eastern Visayas is strong and moving northeastward with rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Mindanao will experience slight to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters are light to moderate.

Sunrise will be at 6:25 a.m., sunset at 5:48 p.m. -- BAP, GMA Integrated News
