LPA's trough, shear line, amihan to bring rains over various parts of Philippines


The trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA), shear line, and northeast monsoon or amihan will bring rains over different parts of the country on Saturday, PAGASA reported.

The Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought about by the shear line with possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Caraga and Davao Region will also have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of an LPA with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Mindoro Provinces, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and CALABARZON will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with light rains due to northeast monsoon but with no significant impact.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought about by localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving northeastward with moderate to rough.

The rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving northeastward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
