Cloudy skies, scattered rains to prevail in Mindanao due to LPA

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail in Mindanao due to a low pressure area (LPA), the weather bureau PAGASA said on Wednesday.

The LPA was located at 380 kilometers east-southeast of Davao City (5.2°N, 128.5°E) at 3 p.m., based on PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast.

PAGASA warned that possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains may occur.

Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, Quezon, Romblon, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains.

Meanwhile, northern and Central Luzon and the eastern sections of southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will have a moderate to strong wind speed forecast moving northeast while coastal water conditions will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will have a light to moderate wind speed forecast moving northeast direction while coastal water conditions will be slight to moderate. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA Integrated News
