PAGASA: LPA off Davao del Sur to bring rains over Visayas, Mindanao

Rains will continue to persist over portions of the Visayas and Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms, and the low pressure area (LPA) off Davao del Sur.

According to PAGASA's 24-hour news bulletin issued at 4 p.m., the LPA was spotted 410 kilometers east of Davao del Sur as of 3 p.m.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail in Eastern Visayas, CARAGA, Davao Region, and Bicol Region while the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned against the possible flash floods and landslides in the affected areas due to the rainfall.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon (Amihan) will bring cloudy skies with rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon; and partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough waters will prevail in the country, PAGASA added. —NB, GMA Integrated News
